WAYNE WILSON

Wayne Wilson joined the Rising Sun School in 1984, having studied T'ai Chi and Kung Fu for a number of years prior.Wayne was an avid supporter of the School during its early development and a great support to Sifu McCaughey in his willingness to pursue the new Rising Sun School curriculum to an Instructors level. In many ways he paved the way for all future apprentices at the School. In 1987, Wayne accomplished a long sought after goal and graduated as a Senior Instructor of T'ai Chi Ch'uan at the Rising Sun School.

Wayne has always studied T'ai Chi with great enthusiasm whether that has meant the long term commitment required of each apprentice at the School or traveling to T'ai Chi camps to broaden his base of knowledge. In 1988 he organized a successful Toronto workshop for Yao Sung Tong of Halifax, which was attended by most of the master teachers of the Toronto's independent T'ai Chi Schools.

Wayne is also an accomplished professional percussionist of over 30 years, playing for such bands as the Down Child Blues Band among others. Wayne moved to Victoria, B.C. in 1989 and has continued to pursue his career in teaching Qigong and T'ai Chi Ch'uan there.
